Ihtiman

Ihtiman is located 55km to the southeast of capital Sofia, 50 km to famous winter resort Borovets and 96 km to Plovdiv, at the foot of Sredna Gora Mountain. The town crosses the biggest Bulgarian highway – Trakija E 80. The town is surrounded by mountains on all sides, which creates à specific microclimate of temperature inversions and extremely cold winters. This beautiful area with preserved wild nature rich of old deep forests and hills, rivers and lakes provides plenty of alternatives to spend your time unforgettably and wonderful conditions. Ihtiman has never been a tourist centre though recently it became quite popular for its 18-hole golf course of 5335 meters with a Par 71 rating. The area provides excellent opportunities for those, who are playing golf, enjoying skiing, snowboarding, hunting, mountain and rural tourism. The town is a starting point for hikes in the Ihtiman ridge of the Sredna Gora Mountain. 15km away from Ihtiman stands the upper end of the Iskar dam – a preferred place for local fishermen. The place is perfect for relax and recreation away from the noisy and busy town!
‘Air Sofia’ golf course in Ihtiman spreads over 4,583 meters of land. The first golf course in Bulgaria is 18-hole one built to the highest international standards, with Par 71. ‘Air Sofia’ golf course was opened on the 10th of June 2000.
The golf complex has a driving range and a putting green where the beginners can start practicing with an experienced professional trainer and the advanced can perfect their play.
Among the amusement facilities the complex offers are: tennis, football, volleyball, basketball, squash, bowling alley, table tennis, billiards, swimming pool, saunas, a gym, Jacuzzi and a massage parlour.
