Samokov
The town of Samokov is located at 950 m altitude in the north foot of highest mountain in Balkans Rila. It stands at 60 km away from capital Sofia and only 11 km away from biggest Bulgarian winter resort Borovets. Through the town flows the longest river in Bulgaria Iskar. The population of town is about 30 000 inhabitants. In Middle Ages Samokov attain big importance in Bulgarian culture and architecture, due to his famous art schools of painters and builders.
